i have been freelancing since last june for the baltimore fishbowl. suzy dunn, the editor, found me on minted.com and read my blog post about bill cunningham and my desire to shoot street fashion. i jumped at the opportunity as i was paired with a style expert, mary ellen brown.

our job is to roam the streets of baltimore and style spot. mary ellen spots the style, i photography the subject.

recently i was inspired by the blog, The Glow, featuring swank moms in their beautiful homes with their adorable children. but i have always been inspired by “that mom” you see in the carpool line, or at the grocery store or on the practice field. the one who always seems to have it together and i don’t mean unrealistically, but just has that certain style. with that in mind, i thought i would invite you meet a few here on my blog from time to time with some q&a’s. if you know of a “that mom” and you would like to nominate her for a feature here, shoot me an email, i would love to hear more.

when we started, henry was not so sure about this whole pciture taking thing,

but once we got started, he got the hang of it in his bathing suit and terry cloth kelly green sweat wrist band.

my plan was to take a picture of his mom and her sisters, and his grandmother.

but he had a different plan. his plan made me smile more. hence the blurry images. i couldn’t see through my hard laughter.

it was the end of the session. there was barely any light.

but it was fun. there is a thrill swimming at dusk.

i was happy to be there to capture a childhood memory of “cousins swimming in the dark”

as summer makes it way into fall i can’t help but embrace the cool air, sunday football, the warm food and sharing time with family and friends.

i love the colors in this image i shot for henhouse linens fall/holiday line.

i think i might have to get one of these lovely aprons and prepare my family’s favorite chicken pot pie! i can imagine it might even taste better wearing this!
